Integrating Information Technology into our educational programmes is the cry of the hour. Information Technology provides students with additional tools to enhance their learning. Our intention means:
- IT as a tool in supporting our teachers
- IT is engaging more students in their own education, appealing to different learning styles
- IT supports our inter-disciplinary approach to learning
- IT supports our vision of ‘classroom without walls'
With this in mind, the School has embarked on an aggressive programme to provide IT at all levels and in all areas. We have completed networking our IT suite, which includes our three custom-designed labs with seventy-five work stations, the main hub which houses the server and proxy server, providing internet facilities via a satellite link, software design and development and hardware maintenance.
Networking the Library, Auditorium, Science labs, Lecture Theatre and EFL lab is complete.
The second phase now underway will connect the Administration and Middle and Upper School buildings to the main hub. The next phase will provide a computer and multi-media projector in every classroom as a teaching aid. Plans are now well underway for providing a personal work station for each teacher and student.
