No-one can lay claim to an education worth the name unless it has left them with an enduring habit of reading for pleasure.
Our Library is central to much of the School's life. It has got a collection of about 5500 books. A number of periodicals are received on a regular basis. These include scientific journals and magazines of common interest.
It is a place for research, information and recreation. In addition to the growing supply of books, it has got the internet facilities, broadening the scope of research and information available to the boys and to the academic staff. Each boy is strongly encouraged to have a book out on loan, to which he can turn in quieter times of the day. Each Form has one period per week dedicated to the Library, a time when staff are on hand to guide boys in their choice of reading matter and to encourage a readiness to read novels, not just non-fiction. In this as in so much else, the School encourages boys to tackle the unfamiliar, not simply pursue what is already known or of interest.
Opening hours are extensive, seven days a week
